Abstract
This is an extraordinarily well-written book on genomics and related areas such as proteomics and systems biology. It is remarkable in its coverage of a very complex area. I was particularly impressed by the section on genomics which is well understood by the somewhat classical protein chemist. The book is intended as a text for advanced undergraduates or beginning graduate students. I would respectfully submit that this is wonderful resource for those with a more clinical background who are interested in entering into a serious relationship with genomics, proteomics, and systems biology. Professor Lesk is a distinguished scientist who has made serious contribution to protein structure and function. This background was no doubt of use in making the genomics section an illustration of clarity.
