Abstract
Oncology is one of the fastest growing subspecialty areas of the physician assistant profession. This section of The Internet Journal of Academic Physician Assistants will provide an open forum for the exchange of the latest clinical information as well as research activities and abstracts on the myriad of topics related to cancer. The goal is to have pertinent updated clinical information on oncology dealing with cancer topics that will educate and inform the physician assistant in the management of patients from primary care to the tertiary level.
To start there will be a series of articles on the Leukemias written by Kathryn Boyer, P.A.-C. from the Department of Hematology at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. It is a clear, concise informative overview of the Leukemias covering epidemiology, diagnosis, and treatment modalities in a useful format.
As the section editor for this section of The Internet Journal of Academic Physician Assistants. I look forward to receiving your articles, case reviews, comments and suggestions.
